The Anthropology Tour provides... -
The Anthropology Tour provides important info and background to this superb, world class museum which covers the history of the country. Lulu, our excellent guide provided special emphasis to the Aztec and Mayan cultures. It is not located in the Downtown area and transportation was provided to that area to complete our tour.

I wouldn't say that behind the Scenes at Bellas Artes is an accurate description of the second half of the tour which is located near the city center. We stopped briefly at Bellas Artes but didn't explore the building, instead, we went to the Zocalo and had a good tour of the cathedral and adjacent Temple Major, both fascinating locations. An excellent and valuable tour overall with important background to the culture and history of Mexico.

Very insightful and you will learn a... -
Very insightful and you will learn a lot about the Aztecs and the Mayan, then if the chance will have it, you will get inside the Bellas Artes for a behind the scenes tour which is really amazing. Only thing I would improve is how to compensate for the whole 9 hours because my tour was already finished after 5 hours.

Misleading Tour - I only chose this tour because of the "behind-the-scenes" guided tour of the Palacio de Bellas Artes. The tour said to "check-out" the Tiffany curtain. Not even a shade of the curtain was seen! The guide just showed us the front lobby of the theater and talked about the person who built the theater.. If you want to see the inside of the theater of the Palacio de Bellas Artes, do not come to this tour. The tour also stated it is a 9-hour tour. It is not. The tour guide was late for about 10 minutes. The tour started at a little past 10 am and ended at around 2:30 pm. We were not given even a snack break! I did not enjoy the tour at all.

Unfortunately my mobile phone was... -
Unfortunately my mobile phone was stolen during this walking tour. It happened just outside the gates of the Cathedral on the sidewalk where several vendor carts were set up. I was squirted with some liquid water? on the back of the neck and was immediately assisted by a middle aged woman who was distracting me by rubbing my neck. Ten minutes later I realized my mobile phone, which had been in the breast pocket of my shirt, was gone. Please be careful. This was a very unfortunate experience, but I understand that one takes risks walking in a large crowd on city streets. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I had enjoyed the tour experience up until the point of the theft.

Racists. Only for homophobic Belgians - Don't go into that joint. You'll certainly regret it. Both owners and regulars will make you feel like you are over there. Pure racism...

Did not find tour operator - We arrived at the entrance to the museum to meet up with the tour group and did not see anyone. At 10 am we asked someone from the museum if they knew where we should go and were told the group already went in and that if we wanted to catch up we had to buy tickets for access. We bought the additional tickets but never ended up finding the tour group.

Could not find the local tour... -
Could not find the local tour operator. We went to the main entrance and did not see anyone who was obviously our tour group. We asked the museum if they knew where we were supposed to meet and they said they'd already gone in and if we wanted to catch up we had to buy a ticket to the museum which is included in the sightseeing tour package. We bought the tickets and continued on into the museum but never did find our tour group.
