Beautiful Town - San Miguel de Allende is a very beautiful town and well worth the visit while in Mexico. Just make sure you are well rested before the trip because you will spend a lot of time on the road and it can be quite bumpy.

Beautiful town - Barbara and Ernesto were my tour guide and driver respectively, and they were both great. About two hours into the drive you stop for 20 minutes for breakfast & restrooms. On the way back there's a quick restroom stop but you have to pay to use the restroom. For my fellow ADA people: It's about a 1 mile walk from the beginning of the walking tour to the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel church, and it took about 1 hour to walk because there was standing involved. There are lots of steep stairs (going down), and lots of steep declines on uneven cobbled streets. This part of the city is very hilly. Then there's a short .29 mile walk to a bus that you have to pay to ride, and the bus drops you off at the van. Overall I enjoyed the experience but it is a very long day, especially with traffic, which there will be, so keep that in mind.

Wonderful - I've done this tour many times now. Why ? Because it's a gorgeous city to visit . Great restaurant . Amazing architecture. Wonderful views and I love the .market here . I always love shopping here . The guides are excellent. Not that I stay around much as I've learned everything I needed to know from them already. But for first timers they are a great source of information

A wonderful day in San Miguel de Allende - We had a wonderful experience with our guide Ruben and driver Javier. Ruben was so knowledge about San Miguel de Allende and answered every question we asked. His in depth knowledge of the history of Mexico is SUPER impressive. Javier drove us through México City like a pro. We enjoyed our entire day.

We expected more - The city is very nice, full of spaces full of history, well preserved, its market is attractive, however, it should be assessed if you are willing to make the trip. There remains the taste of the short time available, practically arrive, go to the market, have lunch and return, especially since the journey is too long and exhausting, practically 5 hours each way, even though the bus is very comfortable. If you are not patient, it is better to take some other tour that may be the same or more interesting.

There must be a better way to see San Miguel de Allende. - You have to show up at a central location at 6 am. The first thing you are told is to NOT use the bathroom on the bus (4 hours until we get to San Miguel de Allende) and to wait until we make a stop at a pay toilet two hours ahead. (We had asked ahead of time about bathrooms, and we were assured, in writing, that there would be a toilet on the bus). We were told that in an emergency, and for "#1" only, we could use the bathroom....but the door didn't close and the seat wouldn't stay down. The bus was filthy...my wife laid her head against the window to nap, and was covered with soot. The guide, Barbara, gave us absolutely no narration as we left Mexico City and traveled across Mexico....we would have loved to have learned something about the geography, the towns, the sky trams, etc. When we got to San Miguel de Allende we parked out of town, and took a city bus (that we had to pay additional for) to get into town. That bus didn't miss a pothole. When we got to downtown, and got off, Barbara gave us a very brief tour, and then let us loose...which was fine, but we would've expected more for the $107 we paid, given how good the other tour guides via Viator have been. We then met at the agreed upon time (there were 29 of us) and we were lead to the wrong bus stop to catch another city bus, and then walked in the heat to another area, to the right stop, where we waited a long time, and caught a crowded city bus during rush hour. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of 1 is that Barbara was nice (but minimal) and the bus didn't break down (small miracle). For the money, we should have been picked up in a better bus (with working bathrooms, at least, as promised) in a regional location (as other Viator tours do), given more information both about the areas we were traveling to and in San Miguel de Allende, and be able to take the tour bus into the downtown area (it seemed like other tour buses were allowed). I tried to ask for a refund but the options are so limited for the reasons, and you can only use 300 characters.

Not recommended at all - The tour didn't happen and I am waiting for my refund. It is very disappointing that I bought the tour with this app expecting a serious service.
