Tolopango springs - Great time at the Parks seeing the beauty Mexico has to offer. The drive to and from is a bit much, but overall a wonderful time

Wonderful Experience! - Booking a private tour was 100% worth it! They pick you up at your accommodations, there is a whole van just for you and your party, and you can request for stops for bathroom, food, etc. Our driver Ricard was very kind and accommodating to us and he took really good care of us. The hot spring themselves were very relaxing and there are bathrooms to change in and food to eat (bring cash). Just note that the hot springs are at the bottom of a mountain so they are many turns on the way there but also beautiful views of the mountains.

Fun Times! - It was amazing. The driver was extremely polite and professional. He took us to great local restaurants and gave us a lot of information about the area. I highly recommend! The Grutas was the best part

Amazing Experience! - This was an amazing tour during our trip to Mexico City. It’s a bit far but definitely worth the drive. The hot springs and caves are beautifully breathtaking. The blue river is a must! Don’t skip any of them! We couldn’t take more pictures, we were busy taking it all in. Our tour guide Jorge was knowledgeable and kind, we had a great time with him.

Private excursion - Our guide was amazing from the time he picked us up until the time he dropped us off. He had bottles of water for us. He had a snack for the long drive. He was very talkative. Very sweet. We sat and had lunch with him after our excursion. I could not have asked for a better day or a better guide.. he spoke great English and he was so kind. I would highly recommend this company and throughout the experience they stayed in touch with me.

We were able to have a private driver both ways and spend the night instead of doing the typical day trip. - This company communicated rapidly to my inquiries and requests to arrange an overnight stay in Las Grutas de Tolantongo.

LOVED the experience! But wish some details were included in trip description... - Richard our guide was excellent! So great!!! We overall had a fun time but wish they had provided us with the following information: 1) Bring some pesos! Not all restaurants take card. Also helpful to have 5 peso coins for bathroom stops along the way 2) That we would need waterproof shoes. I would not recommend this experience barefoot. 3) To bring a flashlight or headlamp for the tunnel section. I used my phone as a flashlight, which kind of worked, but it was humid so I would not recommend. 4) To bring a towel. We ended up bringing them anyways but realized it didn't specify in the booking whether that was included!

Stunning Scenery and Smooth Ride – But Tour Felt Rushed - Richard was very kind, punctual, and friendly. He drove with experience, and the car was comfortable and in great condition. The destination itself was absolutely beautiful – stunning nature and scenery. However, it was quite crowded, which is understandable given the popularity of the place and the day of the week. That’s of course not the tour operator’s fault. The only downside was the timing. The tour description mentioned around 7 hours, but I was asked to leave after just under 5 hours. That was a bit disappointing and made the experience feel a bit rushed. With a little more time, I could have enjoyed the place in a more relaxed way.

Terrible experience with Epic Journey - Our tour to Tolantongo hot springs was disastrous. We could have been killed on the road. My husband and I booked the private tour with Epic Journey. The car the Epic Journey sent for us a poorly maintained without air conditioning in 90 degree heat. The car rattled entire time with all sorts of concerning noise until it ultimately broke down in the middle of highway. The company has the obligation to ensure the client’s safety, however this agency terribly failed this basic but essential obligation to do so. We were left on the highway for more than 30 minutes in the middle of road 2-3 hours away from our hotel. My husband hailed the taxi and asked the agency to pay for the trip back to our hotel. They reluctantly agreed to do so, but not all the way to our hotel. They had taxi driver to drive us to the border between Hidalgo and Mexico City. They have us wait there for another 30 minutes or so till they sent a driver from their agency. When we expressed our distress and concerns to the owner of the company, he simply dismissed our concerns by saying unforgivable excuses. He hasn’t once validated our concerns. The car simply could fall off the cliff or hit by other cars. We are lucky to be alive today. I feel obligated to let other travelers know our experiences with Epic Journey. I also want to ask the responsibility to the TripAdvisor. Does the TripAdvisor have any policy or protocol requiring basic safety measures for local travel agencies?
