Sunrise on the Transpeninsular Highway

The Baja California Sur peninsula has always been on my radar, but this time, I decided to explore it in a way that promised comfort and authenticity. The Baja California Tour was the perfect choice. As a professional surfer, I’m used to early mornings, but the 4:30 am pickup was a new level of dawn patrol. Our guide, David, was a beacon of positivity, greeting us with a smile and a plan. The drive along the Transpeninsular Highway was serene, the kind of peacefulness that only the early hours can offer. The road stretched out before us, a ribbon of asphalt cutting through the desert landscape, leading us to our first destination: Balandra Beach.

We had some free time to explore, and I found myself drawn to the local art scene, a tapestry of creativity that spoke to the soul of the city. David, with his trusty drone, captured a stunning video of us at the La Paz sign, a memory immortalized from above. Our final stop was Todos Santos, a town that oozes charm and history. We visited the famous Hotel California and indulged in strawberries and cream at Agricole, a sweet end to an unforgettable day. As the sun dipped below the horizon, I reflected on the day’s adventures, grateful for the chance to experience Baja California in such a unique and personal way.
