MARRAKECH – DJINEYA (ZAGORA)
M’Hamid - Begin the day with an early morning transfer from Marrakech to M’hamid, traversing the Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka, then along Djebel Tiffernine before entering the Saghro massif through the Tizi n’Tinififft pass. Discover the stunning Drâa valley, with its ksours and kasbahs, as you journey to Zagora to meet the camel driver team in Djineya. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the desert.
DJINEYA – OASIS OUM LILI – LBOUDIAT
Erg Lihoudi Dunes & Bivouac - In the refreshing morning air after breakfast, cross the Djebel Bani through the Djineya pass. Take in the panoramic view of the lush green Drâa valley. After a midday break, continue the trek to cross the Oasis of Oum Lili. Set up camp in Lboudiat.
LBOUDIAT – HASSI NAANAA – STILLA
STILLA – OUED LAMHASSER
Oued Laou - Head south to explore the endless desert plateaus, the Bani mountains, and the black stone desert. Camp at Oued Lamhasser.
OUED LAMHASSER – CHEGAGA
Erg Chigaga - Journey towards Chegaga, the largest dunes in the area, where you can witness the vast sea of sand (and for those interested, enjoy a sand bath!). Bivouac amidst this vastness.
CHEGAGA – OUED LAATACH
Erg Chigaga - Venture deeper into the heart of the sand desert, surrounded by majestic dunes stretching endlessly. Bivouac at Oued Laatache.
OUED LAATACH – BOUGERN
Erg Chigaga - Continue the caravan through dunes and Tamarist to reach the Bougern dunes. Bivouac amidst the Bougern dunes.
BOUGERN – OUED NAAM
Erg Chigaga - Travel to Oued Naam (once home to ostriches) through stony and rocky regs, retaining its name from its former inhabitants. (Naam = Ostriches).
OUED NAAM – M’HAMID
M’Hamid - Depart Oued Naam at a leisurely pace, continuing the journey through the Hamada Du Drâa, a vast stony desert (reg) scattered with volcanic stones. Arrive in the late afternoon at M’hamid, with time to rest and the option to shower. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the desert.
Departure Day - M’HAMID – MARRAKECH
Marrakech - After breakfast, transfer back to Marrakech, with lunch in Ouarzazate, arriving in the afternoon. The driver will drop you at your preferred location.
