Erg Chigaga - Experience a sacred oasis and enjoy an overnight stay at an Erg Chigaga desert camp. The Sahara desert adventure to Erg Chegaga starts at the Morocco desert camp located just outside the village of M’Hamid El Ghizlane. Guests can arrive in the morning or opt to stay at the basecamp the previous night, with a complimentary delicious breakfast included. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with tea, as per tradition, and the upcoming journey is discussed to ensure all needs for the Erg Chigaga excursion are met.
The 4x4 Jeep will be packed with water, snacks, and luggage as the Erg Chigaga excursion begins. Following the Wad Latash river, guests will soon find themselves surrounded by a variety of diverse desert landscapes. They will encounter tamarisk trees (referenced in ancient texts, including the Bible), expansive stone plains, and herds of wild camels. Along the route, a visit to a sacred oasis, where Sahara nomads gathered for celebrations, is included.

The second day of the Erg Chigaga excursion focuses on returning to M’hamid. In the morning, guests have the option to rise early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise. After savoring a delicious breakfast at the Erg Chigaga desert camp, there is free time to explore the dunes. The 4x4 jeep will be loaded, and the journey back to the village of M’Hamid El Ghizlane will commence, with an expected arrival around 10 am. This marks the conclusion of the Erg Chigaga Excursion.
