M’HAMID – LAHNANICHE
M’Hamid - After breakfast, the hike begins beyond the palm grove to the Rass N’khel dunes, followed by a trek across a beautiful desert plateau. After lunch, continue walking. As the day ends, witness a breathtaking sunset over the Lahnaniche dunes. Camp setup follows.
LAHNANICHE – SIDI NAJI
M’Hamid - The desert warmly welcomes with its ergs and regs amidst the tamaris. The Kraab chain (Black Mountain) is visible. The team will set up camp for the night near the tomb of Sidi Naji, a pilgrimage site for Nouaji and Sahrawi women seeking marriage.
SIDI NAJI – ERG ZAHAR
M’Hamid - The caravan proceeds towards the large dunes, traversing the untouched desert before reaching the Erg Zahar dunes to enjoy the sunset.
ERG ZAHAR – ERG SMAR – ERG SADRA
Erg Chigaga - The morning is spent appreciating the landscape of Erg Smar, with a lunch break under the large tamaris. The afternoon involves crossing the expansive Lawtid Reg, known for its flat terrain. Bivouac at Erg Sadra.
ERG SADRA – OUED LAATACH – BOUGERN
Erg Chigaga - The journey continues towards Bougern, crossing the Oued Laatach dunes. Bivouac amidst the Bougern dunes.
BOUGARN – OUED NAAM
Erg Chigaga - The caravan continues through dunes and Tamaris over two days to reach Bougarn and then Oued Naam, once home to ostriches, retaining its name from its former inhabitants (Naam=ostriches).
OUED NAAM – M’HAMID
M’Hamid - Departing Oued Naam peacefully, the journey continues through the Hamada Du Drâa, a vast pebbled desert (reg) scattered with volcanic stones. Return to M’hamid in the late afternoon, with time to rest and the option to shower. Overnight in the desert bivouac.
Departure Day
Marrakech - Transfer back to Marrakech, with an opportunity to visit Tamegroute (Pottery, ancient Koran library…), enjoy lunch in Ouarzazate, and arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon. The driver will drop you at your preferred location.
