M’Hamid - The journey begins as the driver meets the group at the accommodation’s reception in Marrakech, setting off towards M’Hamid El Ghizlane. The route crosses the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains.

Lunch is scheduled in Ait Ben Haddou, where there is an opportunity to climb the ancient kasbah and take in the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The journey then continues towards M’Hamid.

Upon arrival, the first night is spent in a desert camp, offering a chance to relax, gaze at the starry sky, and prepare for the upcoming Sahara adventure.

M’Hamid Village – Sidi Naji Marabout (Holy Man)

M’Hamid - The adventure kicks off with a pickup from the accommodation (Riad, hotel, or camping) in M’Hamid. A local desert guide will accompany the group to the trek’s starting point, where the nomadic team and camels await.

Following a brief orientation and preparation, the trek begins towards Sidi Naji Marabout, a revered site dedicated to a holy man honored by local nomads. The walk spans approximately 3 hours across varied desert landscapes.

Participants can choose to:

• Continue trekking on foot, or

• Ride a camel for a more traditional Sahara experience.

Upon reaching Sidi Naji, the first desert camp is set up. As the sun sets, dinner is prepared around the fire. The evening is enriched with traditional desert music performed by the nomadic staff, allowing for a serene appreciation of the Sahara’s tranquility and its brilliant starry sky.

Sidi Naji – Erg Zahar (The Highest Dunes)

Erg Zaher - After breakfast, the trek continues towards Erg Zahar, renowned for being one of the region’s highest dune areas, with dunes soaring up to 300 meters.

The walk takes about 3 hours. As Erg Zahar approaches, the landscape evolves into vast golden dunes stretching endlessly towards the horizon. The silence here is profound and unforgettable.

Upon arrival, camp is established at the base of the dunes. There is free time to climb the towering dunes and enjoy panoramic views, particularly stunning at sunset when the sand shifts from gold to deep orange.

Dinner is served at camp, followed by another enchanting evening under the stars.

Douib – M’Hamid Village - Return to Marrakech

Marrakech - Early risers may choose to wake before dawn to climb a nearby dune and witness a captivating Sahara sunrise over the golden sands, a peaceful and emotional moment as the first light graces the desert.

After breakfast, the final day of the journey towards Marrakech begins, passing through the village of M’Hamid. This last leg allows travelers to fully embrace the desert’s beauty and tranquility before returning to civilization.

Upon arrival in M’Hamid, farewells are exchanged with the nomadic team, and the driver meets the group for the transfer back to the accommodation in Marrakech.
