Not Worth It - Bus NEVER Picked Us Up - What happens when you combine TripAdvsior, Viator (the customer service agency), bus company (Key West Express), and trip organizer (Attractions4us LLV)? A hot mess and the greater potential to get screwed over and no one takes responsibility because it is always someone else’s problem. The itinerary which is advertised is very ambiguous and unclear. It states “return to Miami at 5pm” but does not give a general time frame of when you will actually arrive in Miami. It is not obvious from reading it that the trip is 4 hours each way or four hours total. Two days before our trip to Key West, we got a text message from a New Jersey phone number asking if we would like a hotel pickup. Nowhere on the TripAdvisor trip description or itinerary is this number listed. I responded and confirmed we would be picked up from 500 Collins Ave in front of the TD Bank in South Beach between 6:50 and 7:10 AM. We were there at 6:45 AM with some others on the tour, the bus came and as we tried to get on, a woman with a clip board said we weren’t on the list and the bus left us there. I tried contacting the person who confirmed our pick up with us and they did not answer the texts or calls. That is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Then I try to contact the tour operator, but the phone number listed won’t accept calls until 9 AM - so what is someone supposed to do when the bus doesn’t pick you up, and it’s before 9 AM? Again, UNACCEPTABLE. As I was on the phone with TripAdvisor for help, a Miami number called me. The person on the line said “hi!!! Are you coming to key west?? You didn’t get on the bus.” I was stunned. I told them that the bus came and they didn’t let us on. Then, this person gave me a different phone number to contact - the bus company. So I contact the number for the bus company, and they rebooked us for the next day, which is the very least they could do. The next day came, and we were able to board the bus. We make it to Key Largo and they stop at a McDonald’s and Dollar Tree for a breakfast and bathroom break for only 30 minutes. There were sixty people or more on our bus and two other buses full of people came to the McDonald’s and Dollar Tree as well. Do you really think it’s possible for 60+ people to use three single-stalled bathrooms in 30 minutes? If you do the math, that’s like 30 seconds per person. The bathroom stop was totally ridiculous and unacceptable - there was really nowhere else to stop?? Then we’re back on the bus only to find out there is an issue and we have to change buses and share with a different group. The second bus we got on was disgusting. The windows, seats, and floors were filthy. It’s too bad the windows were so cloudy and gross because it made what would have been a scenic and beautiful drive, one that was seen through milky, dirty windows. We get to Key West and they still honored the six hours as promised in the itinerary. However, my husband and I felt rushed and didn’t think the 8-hour round trip was worth it, especially when they don’t tell you how late you’ll get back. We were very disappointed and will never book something with TripAdvisor again. There is no accountability whatsoever.
