A Journey Through Time and Stars

As I embarked on my journey to Mleiha, I was filled with anticipation. The allure of the desert, with its vast stretches of sand and ancient secrets, called to me. My guide for the day, Nabil from Adventure Quest, had meticulously planned a full-day tour that promised to be both enlightening and exhilarating. Our day began with kayaking and hiking, activities that allowed us to connect with the natural beauty of the region. But it was the afternoon that held the promise of a deeper connection to the past.

The Mleiha Archaeological Centre was our next destination. As a scholar of Islamic studies, I have always been fascinated by the rich tapestry of history that the Middle East offers. The centre did not disappoint. Its beautifully designed exhibition showcased archaeological finds that spoke of a time long past. Our journey took us to Fossil Rock, a place where time seemed to stand still. As the sun began its descent, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I felt a profound sense of peace. A Celestial Finale

As night fell, we made our way to the camp, where the aroma of a traditional barbecue filled the air. We were offered local drinks like Karak, a strong milk tea that warmed the soul. The meal was a feast for the senses, a celebration of the region’s culinary heritage.

The evening culminated in an astrology session led by Prabhakanar Andiappan, a man whose knowledge of the stars was as vast as the desert itself. With powerful telescopes, we gazed upon the heavens, marveling at the planets Jupiter and Saturn. It was a humbling experience, a reminder of our place in the universe and the wonders that lie beyond our world.

In the quiet of the desert night, surrounded by the whispers of the wind and the glow of the stars, I felt a deep connection to the world around me.
