A great guide and an awesome day. - I did this tour with a super friendly and knowledgeable guide called Rui.
I totally recommend if you want to visit the island easily, giving you plenty of time to go to Santo antao during your stay.
If you're travelling solo you may meet other solo travelers on this shared tour which made the experience even more enjoyable.
I took most of my pictures with a camera and I am not back home yet but here's a picture that I took of the beach while we were visiting rescued turtles.

Beautiful discoveries of the islands and their traditions - I made two excursions with the agency, the half day on Mindelo with Dany and the day in Santo Antao with Madu, I spent two very nice days and learned a lot. These guides are passionate about their island and transmit this love as well as possible. Thanks to them and the driver too. I was lucky enough to be in a group of only 3 people each time. We also ate very well each time and discovered local specialties.
I was also able to meet Paulo, the boss of the agency that brought me to the ferry and his wife Angela, was super responsive in her emails even when I booked at the last moment.

The half-day excursion is worthwhile for a first overview and beautiful views. - Very interesting tour with a nice guide who was very helpful and professionally responded to all questions (individual, since no other guests).

FIVE STARS EXPERIENCE! AMAZING GUIDE, AMAZING PLACE! TOP RECOMMENDATION IN SAO VICENTE! - We went on a 6h tour with Paulo, our local guide in Sao Vicente. Starting from Mindelo, we had a warm welcome already staring form our hotel and we immediately had a very well explained tour of the centre of Mindelo, ticking off the main streets, the markets, the culture house, but also where the icon of the country, Cesaria Evora started her legendary career. Later on, we went on a great panoramic tour of Monte Verde, admiring the amazing landscapes from 700m altitude. Touring around the island, we ticked off the villages of Salamansa, Baia Norte, Baia das Gatas and arriving in Calhau for a very tasty lunch near the volcanoes. Paulo's knowledge and passion about Cape Verde is beyond any expectations, and we didn't want our tour to finish because of his kindness, friendliness, availability to stop anytime for a quick photo and explanation and driving us all around.
The last part of the tour was dedicated to a different point of view of the island, checking the hard life of farmers, growing their plantations on a very arid land, and also visiting some isolated villages inland and an interesting unusual golf pitch. Maybe less touristy, but surely an authentic view of the island, important to understand the identity of the place.
Paulo was just the best guy we could have ever dream for our tour around Sao Vicente. I've also met him the day after, where he spontaneously took me to witness an amazing sunrise at 6:00AM before going for my run.
WE GAVE FIVE STARS JUST BECAUSE WE COUDLN'T LEAVE MORE.
