One of China’s four famous gardens, a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national 5A tourist attraction and a national special tourist attraction, known as the “mother of Chinese gardens”, was listed as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1997. Humble Administrator’s garden, a grand garden style classical luxury garden, with its layout of mountain island, bamboo dock, Songgang and Qushui, is known as the “model of garden in the world”. It is as famous as Chengde summer resort, Liuyuan and Beijing Summer Palace. It is the first of China’s four famous gardens, one of the national key cultural relics protection units, one of the national special tourist sites, and the world cultural heritage. So far, there is only one Humble Administrator’s garden in China with these four laurels.
