Highly recommend if you love chocolate - The workshop was great about 2.5 hours long where you learn about the caco bean and get to roast and grind it. Then you make traditional coco drinks, finished by a big batch of either dark or milk chocolate that you get to take away with you. The chocolate tastes amazing and you get a big portion to take with away. The teacher was very knowledgeable and the group we had were very fun.

You get to make your own chocolate - Very neat experience. Every part of the flower is used... we tasted the fruit of the flower which had a slimy texture and tasted like banana. And underneath it is the bean. Which we roasted. After roasting the beans we cracked the shells separating the two. We made tea from the shells. And grinded the beans which made a powder which we made chocolate milk. We learned the history of the cocoa tree and how it was harvested and is done today. The best part for me was us making our very own chocolates. They turned out pretty and delicious. The only thing that's misleading is the museum. There's no museum, it's a space in the middle of a shopping plaza.

Making your own chocolate - It was a neat experience. From tasting the fruit of the plant which had a slimy texture but tasted like banana. To roasting the beans, to cracking the shell off and making tea from the shells. Then grinding the beans to make powder. Which we made hot chocolate and a spicy chocolate. My favorite was making our very own personalized chocolates. The only thing that's misleading is museum, there's not a chocolate museum but a space in the middle of a shopping plaza.

Making cocoa with Manuel - I took this class on my first time traveling to Lima. And it was the perfect introduction into learning more about cacao and also having something to do as a solo female traveler here. Manuel was amazing and funny and passionate about his classes and products and just overall very inspiring and telling the history of cacao here in his country. When I got back to the states, I brought the chocolate bars with me and my friends really loved the taste of it. It was such a fun class and I really appreciate Manuel!
