Golem Grad, often referred to as Snake Island, is a captivating and enigmatic location teeming with numerous snakes (mostly non-venomous), rare pelicans, and turtles. This island is one of North Macedonia’s most fascinating natural and historical gems, where wildlife thrives and history quietly endures. It is situated in Lake Prespa, North Macedonia, near the borders of Albania and Greece.

The tour includes pick-up from Ohrid (or a nearby location, which should be communicated before the tour begins), transfer to the village of “Stenje” or “Konjsko,” followed by a boat trip to the island. A guided tour with a licensed guide lasts approximately 1 hour, after which you will return by boat and be transferred back to the city. On the return journey, there is an option to stop for a drink or meal at your request in the village of Stenje, the city of Resen, or another location along the route. A short break is included, and the entire tour lasts about 5-6 hours.

Nestled within Lake Prespa, this island remains untouched by human habitation and is filled with intriguing tales.

The journey begins with a pick-up from Ohrid or a nearby location (please inform us of your location before we start). You’ll be transferred to the village of “Stenje” or “Konjsko,” where you’ll embark on a boat trip to the island. Enjoy a guided tour with a licensed guide for approximately 1 hour, followed by a return boat trip and transfer back to the city. On the way back, there is an option to stop for a drink or meal at your request in the village of Stenje, the city of Resen, or another location along the route. We’ll take a short break to relax and then continue back to the starting point. The entire tour lasts 5-6 hours and requires a minimum of 2 participants.
