Mercado Central de Atarazanas - Your gastronomic adventure kicks off at Mercado Atarazanas, a city market established in the 19th century, built on the foundation of an Arabic-influenced structure, and recognized as part of Spain’s cultural heritage since 1979.
Here, you can indulge in a selection of delicacies: either a tender pinchito de pulpo (grilled octopus skewer) or a flavorful pinchito de atún (grilled tuna skewer), accompanied by a refreshing small beer to set the tone for your journey (lunch only).
- C. Granada, 62 - Next, proceed to a lively local venue near the Picasso Museum, a 16th-century palace housing over 200 of Picasso’s works.
Nearby, you’ll be offered a glass of wine or a small beer, along with a variety of savory tapas. Choose between carrillada (tender pork cheeks) or atún (tuna), or savor the rich flavors of chivo malagueño (goat stew), crispy chicharrones, or the succulent atún encebollado (tuna in onion sauce). To share, you’ll also enjoy half a portion of albóndigas (meatballs) that perfectly complement the tapas.
- Plaza de la Merced - Plaza de la Merced is one of the most significant and oldest squares in town, dating back to Roman times. It truly embodies the Andalusian spirit, and here you can see surrounding monuments such as the Monument to Torrijos or the house where Pablo Picasso was born.
Nearby, at the next destination, immerse yourself in the essence of Andalusian cuisine with a selection of tapas, such as berenjenas al miel (fried aubergines with a delicious honey sauce) or anchovies! To accompany your dishes, enjoy a drink of your choice, rounding out the flavors of this authentic Spanish experience.
- Calle Tomás de Cózar - At the final stop, you’ll savor the famous Locas de Málaga, a delightful local specialty that captures the unique flavors of Málaga in every bite. Alternatively, in summer, you may enjoy a refreshing homemade ice cream flavored with local ingredients.
