The Golden Eagle Festival - Start the day with an early breakfast at the hotel before being transferred to the airport for a domestic flight to Ulgii city, the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province, via MIAT airlines from 7:40 AM to 8:40 AM. The flight lasts 2 hours with MIAT-Mongolian Airlines, and upon arrival in Ulgii around 9:00 AM, a welcoming team will greet you warmly and take you for breakfast at a local tea house. Then, participate in Eagle Festival Day 1:
• Opening Ceremony: Includes introductions, the history of eagle hunting, and a parade of participants.
• Eagle Hunting Competitions: Eagles catch fox skins dragged behind their trainer’s horse.
• Traditional Games: Enjoy activities like Kyz Kuar (a race between a man and woman on horseback) and Bushkashi (tug of war on horseback with goatskin).
• Cultural Performances: Experience Ethno-Kazakh and Mongol concerts featuring traditional music and dance.
Bayan-Ulgii. Eagle Festival Day 2
The Golden Eagle Festival - This celebration not only preserves the ancient art of eagle hunting but also instills a sense of pride and community among the Kazakh people. It has become a symbol of cultural resilience and an opportunity to share their traditions globally.
• Eagle Call: Hunters summon their eagles from a distance, highlighting the bond between them.
• Horseback Competitions: Riders pick up flags or flowers from the ground while galloping.
• Closing Ceremony: Includes awards and celebrations.
Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
Altai Tavan Bogd National Park - After breakfast, embark on a field tour driving towards Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Cover 180 kilometers of rugged terrain, approximately 5 hours on a dirt road, while enjoying tasty “road-trip snacks” along the way. Upon reaching the base camp, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner. Spend the night in traditional Kazakh Yurts or nearby houses, located near the entrance to Tavan Bogd Mountain. The driving distance is about 180km / 6 hours.

Olgiy - After breakfast, hike or horse ride up to the magnificent Baga Turgen waterfall. Return to Khoton Khurgan lake and enjoy the surroundings with a light picnic lunch. Arrive back in Ulgii town, transfer to the hotel, and rest. The driving distance is about 180km / 6 hours.
Bayan-Ulgii to Ulaanbaatar
Olgiy - After breakfast, take a flight back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. After lunch, enjoy a city tour including visits to the Chinggis Khan Museum and Bogd Khan Palace, a series of beautiful traditional buildings where Mongolia’s last religious King resided. Dinner will feature Mongolian cuisine with a folk performance including throat singing. The most captivating performers are the throat singers, contortionists, and Tsam dancers. Khoomii or throat singing is a musical art performed with a guttural voice and a specific breathing technique. Night owls may wish to explore the nightlife of Ulaanbaatar.
