Cusco - Lago Humantay - Collpapampa
SORAYPAMPA - Guests will be picked up at 3 a.m. for a transfer to Soraypampa, which involves approximately a 4-hour journey. Soraypampa is the starting point of the hike. Upon arrival, participants will join the Salkantay group for breakfast and prepare for the 20-kilometer trek. The hike to the highest point of Salkantay begins around 6:30 a.m. After 3 hours of trekking, the summit is reached, offering stunning views of the Salkantay mountain. At the top, there is an opportunity to make an offering to the APUS (Andean gods). The descent involves a 15 km trek downhill to an altitude of 2900 m / 9510 ft, completed in two stages. The first stage leads to the lunch spot. After lunch, there is a 3-hour trek to the camp at Chawllay. Along the way, various landscapes such as glacier mountains and grassy hills can be admired. Upon reaching the camp, guests can relax while the cooks prepare a delicious dinner.
Chaullay - Santa Teresa - Hidroeléctrica - Aguas Calientes
Santa Teresa - The hike begins at 7:00 a.m. to Sahuayaco beach, taking approximately 5 hours through the Santa Teresa valley, shaped by the Salkantay River. Participants will see plantations of coffee, bananas, avocados, coca, passion fruit, and more. After five hours, the group arrives at La Playa Sahuayaco, where local transportation will take them to Santa Teresa in one hour for a lunch break.
Aguas Calientes - The journey continues with a 45-minute car ride to Hidroeléctrica, followed by a 3-hour walk along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes on a flat road. Upon arrival, guests will be taken to the hotel to shower and relax.
Machu Picchu - Cusco
Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu - On the final day, an early start is planned for a visit to the renowned Machu Picchu. A guided tour of the citadel will provide insights into the temples, terraces, and the remarkable stone structures that make Machu Picchu a Wonder of the World. In the afternoon, the group returns to Aguas Calientes, with time for lunch (not included), offering a chance to explore local dining options. The journey continues with a train ride to Ollantaytambo, allowing passengers to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival at the train station, the adventure concludes.
