Embark on a day expedition to the medieval Mont St Michel, an emblematic attraction of France. This enchanting UNESCO World Heritage site offers an extraordinary experience with its renowned Gothic abbey and mythical tales. After a picturesque drive from Paris crossing Normandy’s terrains, your guide will enlighten you with historical insights. The itinerary allows ample time to wander around the island, soak up the splendid bay scenes, and indulge in some shopping. Also included is a leisure lunch break at Mont Saint Michel.
- Coach journey from Paris to Mont-Michel is approx. 4-5 hours each way. The arrival back to Paris is planned around 9.30PM.
- Time spent at Mont St-Michel is approx. 4 hours
- This tour involves quite a lot of walking with steps and uphill paths so is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties
- The tour takes place all year round, so dress for the weather, including appropriate shoes!
- On September 20 and 21, the Mont Saint Michel Abbey will take part in the European Heritage Days. During these two days, admission to the Abbey will be free of charge and visits will be self-guided.

Magical - Definitely go with a tour guide so you hear about the history and the secrets of Mount Saint Michel.

Stunning glimpse into history - Alex was an incredible host - switching seamlessly between French, Spanish, and English for the group - it was quite impressive!
Loved the guided tour of the island - it was well done and the time allocated was great. The trip then also allowed a fair amount of time to explore on your own - have a meal, do some shopping, or just take in the sites of this medieval gem.
You should be in good health and shape to do the full tour as lots of climbing inclines and stairs to the top, but well worth it if you’re able!
It is a long trip from Paris and the bus quarters are really tight - hardly any leg room and you get to know your neighbors well. If anything could be improved - that was it. Four hours each way of not having much space to move was tough.

Great guided tour to a... - Great guided tour to a stunning landmark! We were in Paris for 6 days and decided to use one to take a day trip. So glad we picked this one. The trip there is on the longish side for a day trip (4-4.5 hours each way) but our guide kept us informed at several points throughout the drive by teaching us about the history and traditions of the area. Definitely recommend!

That was so good. - The trip was very comfortable and my guide, NINA, showed me around in easy to understand English, which made me feel good and safe. It was amazing to see the city, beautiful scenery and Aurora in my own eyes.

14 hours to see the Abbey. - A long day down and back to the Abby - 8hrs on a bus. 4hrs at the Abbey.
Be prepared for the 300 steps up to the top. If you’re not very fit it might not be for you. The paths are narrow and steep
and there’s so many people - some with dogs and there’s kids everywhere too in front of you and behind. After an hour I felt like one of the prisoners they use to hold there.. wanting to escape! There’s 2 or 3 shuttle buses that hold about 70 people and a line of about 600 trying to get on in the rain. It’s another classic example of go once and never again!
