Unique experience in Montevideo, Uruguayan carnival, parade in Avda. July 18 and Tablado of the Parque Rodó. A cultural display - Only experience about the Uruguayan carnival, particular and different to what is known in Argentina. Montevideo is the place where the main activities take place and there the murgas are the outstanding display of this cultural expression of the "charrúas", each of them with a dose of humor, politics, criticism and social sense about this country. Society participates in large numbers to the Tablados in various points, parades of comparsas on the AVDA. July 18 and Tablados in different parts of the city. It is recommended to see a performance of the Candombe bands. I was able to go to the board of Parque Rodó and a unique memory remained in my memory.

Not Enjoyable For English Speakers - This is not something that will be at all enjoyable to a non- Spanish speaker. There is much more verbiage than singing and dancing and the level of singing and dancing is equivalent to a high school performance. There was no representative to guide us when we arrived. Although the offer included no waiting in line, when we did that, everyone on line was jeering us and it felt threatening. Although the doors were supposed to open at 8:00, they didn’t until 8:30 and the show didn’t start til 9:00. We did have good seats, for what that’s worth. We left after an hour.
