Morioka- worth a train stop - I stayed in a hotel in the center, right by the train station. From there I took a nice 20 min walk to a lovely onsen. In the station there was also a gigantic and nice shopping center with great variety and great prices.

Best way to spend the afternoon in Morioka. - Toshisan was an amazing guide. He showed me all around Morioka. The castle ruins, the old red brick Iwate Bank building, a sake tasting, Takematsu Park, and Takematsu Jinja Shrine. Be prepared to walk a lot and you’ll have an amazing experience discovering Morioka.
