A full-day excursion to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and the Telouet Valley from Marrakech (lasting 12 hours) offers a glimpse that will inspire a desire to explore the magnificent Moroccan south.

After traversing the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizin’Tichka Pass (7,410 feet) above sea level, travelers will leave behind lush mountains to reach a desert area. Here, in the renowned fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, there will be a stop to visit its Kasbah, which is nestled in the mountain and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The return journey to Marrakech will partially follow the famous caravan route. The Telouet Kasbah, rich in history and linked with the French, is situated in a fertile valley surrounded by palm, fig, and olive trees. The Kasbah stands alone, adorned with original zellij tiles featuring the Jewish Star of David, preserved silks, and grand remnants of the El Pacha Glaoui family.
