Marrakech - Dades Valley

High Atlas Mountains - Depart from your hotel at 8:00 AM, heading southeast across the Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. There will be several stops for coffee, restroom breaks, and to enjoy the panoramic views and take photographs.

Ait Ben Haddou - Arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site “Ait Benhaddou Village,” a fortified ksar with stunning Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has been a natural backdrop for many films. A local guide will lead a walk across the river to explore The Ksar and climb to the top of the hill through the alleys of Ait Benhaddou, offering a journey through the Middle Ages with a breathtaking view of the fertile Ounila River Valley, surrounded by desert landscapes and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the background. The view from the top is truly expansive.

Ouarzazate - After lunch, travel to Ouarzazate with the option to visit the Atlas Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. (These visits are optional.)

Skoura - Continue to Dades Gorges through the vast palm groves of Skoura. If time allows, visit Kasbah Amredile.

Vallee Des Roses - The Rose Valley stretches along the M’Goun River. The Damascena rose was brought to Morocco centuries ago by a Berber merchant from Damascus, hence the name. They bloom between April and mid-May.

Boumalne Dades - Upon reaching Boumalne Dades, take a secondary road leading up through Dades Gorges. Enjoy the beautiful rock formations (known as the monkey feet) and the scenery of fortified Kasbahs along the Dades River, with the sunset as a backdrop. After a stop at the canyons for a drink or to admire the majestic scenery, continue to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Dades Gorges - Merzouga

Todgha Gorge - The 3-day desert adventure continues after a traditional breakfast, taking the road of 1000 Kasbahs and driving around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades Valley to reach Tineghir. This beautiful valley, with 15 km of date palms, ends with spectacular gorges often used for rock climbing. The road to the Todgha Gorge passes through green palmeraies and Berber villages, where a trek along the 300m high canyons is planned.

Erfoud - Continue to Erfoud, where the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet and its vast arid plateaus can be felt.

Erg Chebbi Dunes - Upon arrival at the Erg Chebbi dunes, a short off-road drive takes you to the edge of the golden dunes where camels await. Luggage will be transported in a 4x4 vehicle to the camp, and a delightful camel ride over the sand dunes offers a chance to witness a majestic Sahara sunset en route to the camp.

Merzouga Desert - Upon arrival, guests are greeted with tea and smiles. They will be shown to their comfortable private tents equipped with ensuite bathrooms and showers to relax and settle in before dinner. After a delicious meal, a fire is lit, and a festive atmosphere takes over with musical performances by the staff and cameleers under the starry desert night.

Merzouga Desert - Marrakech

Rissani - An early wake-up call to enjoy the sunrise over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga, one of the desert’s best moments. Afterward, breakfast is served in the camp, and guests pack and return either on camels or by 4x4, leaving the dunes behind and returning to the asphalt roads.

Alnif - After a 2-hour drive, a quick stop is made in the village of Alnif to use the restrooms and stretch before continuing to Draa Valley.

Draa Valley - Continue to Ouarzazate, passing through Tazarine, Nkob, Draa Valley, and Agdez. The vast oasis of the Draa Valley, with its thousands of date palms producing an impressive 44 varieties, is a sight to behold. This is part of the ancient caravan route that supplied goods from Mali and Niger across the Sahara.

Ouarzazate - Continue over the Tizi-n-Tinfifte pass to Ouarzazate, where a lunch stop is planned.

Marrakech - Finally, continue to Marrakech, where the Merzouga desert experience concludes. Cross the Atlas Mountains again and pass through Berber villages between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. Drop-off at your accommodation.
