Marangu Waterfall-Coffee Tour and Chaga Caves (Kikuletwa)

Moshi - At approximately 8:00 am, the journey will commence from your hotel in Moshi to Marangu gate, the starting point for Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, you will receive a brief history of Mt. Kilimanjaro and have the opportunity to take some photographs. Following this, the tour will proceed to the second stop - a coffee farm. At this small coffee farm, you will learn about the local methods of growing, harvesting, and processing coffee. You will also have the chance to try your hand at processing, roasting, and preparing a fresh cup of coffee.

After enjoying your coffee, the tour will continue to the Ndoro waterfalls. You will travel through beautiful small plantations of bananas and coffee, taking in the lush green landscape. From the waterfall, the tour will proceed to the Chagga underground caves and the Chagga live museum. Here, you can learn about the history of the caves and visit the museum, which provides insights into the life of the Chagga tribe. After lunch, the tour will continue to the Blacksmith, where you can learn how the community crafts their iron tools.

Chemka (Kikuletwa) Hot Springs

Kikuletwa Hot Springs - After a hearty breakfast, you will depart from your hotel and drive to Maji Moto. This scenic drive takes you off the beaten path and offers a glimpse into local life, including bustling markets and local farms.

The Chemka Hot Springs is an oasis in the hinterland of the Kilimanjaro region, located 40 kilometers from Moshi. These idyllic underground springs, with their crystal clear, turquoise water, provide the perfect relaxation spot after a challenging Kilimanjaro climb or an adventurous wilderness safari. They are also an ideal destination for day-trippers. Regardless of age or athletic ability, the Chemka Hot Springs invite everyone to linger, swim, and explore.

The pond is very deep, reaching up to 10 meters in some areas, but the water is so clear that the bottom is always visible. On the shore, beneath lush trees, you can camp, enjoy snacks, or soak up the sun while watching monkeys leap between the trees.
