For an authentic experience, you can hop on a dala dala, the local minibuses. If you prefer a quicker and more comfortable journey, you can opt for a private car. Upon arrival at the village, your coffee tour will commence at a traditional Chaggah ‘shamba.’
Here, your guide will explain all aspects of the Chaggah homestead, including the various crops they grow besides coffee.
You will witness the entire coffee production process—from picking the beans to roasting and finally enjoying a delicious cup yourself.
After your coffee tour, you will embark on a short hike. Be sure to wear sports or mountain boots, as it can be muddy. The hike will take you through local villages to reach the waterfalls.
You will either have a picnic lunch box or be treated to a full spread of freshly cooked lunch prepared by a local family. Following lunch, you will have the chance to take a dip in the refreshing (and quite cold!) pools beneath the waterfalls.
