Following a safety briefing and equipment check, the trek commences through the lush rainforest, home to colobus monkeys, elephants, and a variety of bird species. The hike lasts approximately 3-4 hours, concluding at Big Tree Camp (Mti Mkubwa Camp) for an overnight stay.

Big Tree Camp (2,780m) – Shira 1 Camp (3,500m)

Kilimanjaro National Park - On the second day, the trek transitions from the rainforest to the moorland zone, revealing breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey takes 5-6 hours, ending at Shira 1 Camp, situated on the western edge of the Shira Plateau.
