Fun way to explore Moshi & surroundings - a memorable day out! - An excellent way to orientate yourself around the Mt Kilimanjaro area cycling through Moshi centre and up into the coffee plantations & communities living there. We had loads of fun with George on the cycle tour and Charles with a tour through Moshi town. Both were knowledgeable and so friendly, eager to share their enthusiasm for their area and its rich history. Bikes were in good condition with different sizes available, company easy to contact, and packed lunch was extensive. All-in-all, a professional and personalised experience.
Quick note - the first half of the cycle is somewhat strenuous for anyone who doesn’t regularly cycle. Perfectly doable mind you, but be warned that some sweat & effort is involved.

Best First Day in Tanzania! - I had the absolute best first day in Tanzania thanks to Charles and George. I can’t recommend this enough. Nowhere else will you get such access into villages and insight into some of the hidden gems in the surrounding area. The bike tour was an excellent workout ahead of my Mt Kilimanjaro ascent! Beautiful views and rainforest ride when we went off road. The walking tour was exceptional. I had mentioned that I am a coffee addict so we were able to stop in a coffee factory to see them roasting beans and then stopped for the best coffee I’ve had in years at the Union Coffee cafe. Charles knew so much about the history of Tanzania and East Africa and was generous with his time and energy. We were also lucky since when we got to the rooftop of a hotel in Moshi the clouds parted and we could see the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro. Magical! Thank you for such a lovely first day.

Thanks so much. The mountain bikes were great and the lunch was enormous.

Amazing experience! - This was an amazing experience. From the bike ride with Said to the nice conversation with Charles. You will stop by a local school, visit a market, talk to farmers, try local banana beer, visit a church, try local fruits and have a drink or two at the rooftop terrace. I even had a quick nap under the tree 🤗. I learned a lot about the history of this beautiful country and it's people. Till we meet again, asante sana!!!

Best tour I have experienced in my life! - This trip is guided by Charles from “Safari by Leo” (it’s a family owned safari and cultural tour based (small but beautiful) company owned by Leo and Charles). Charles is book of knowledge. He explained us the history, culture of different tribes in Tanzania especially Chagga tribe who predominantly live
at the foothills of Kilimanjaro (by the way Charles himself from Chagga tribe :)).
Actual trip is only cycle tour around foothills. But Charles loves his country so much and he wanted to give us more experience about Tanzania and he has additionally done Moshi town guided tour and night life tour of Moshi. I am quite convinced he is not doing this culture tour for money. It’s his passion to show Tanzania to tourists and explain its history to world! I highly recommend this tour and other cultural tours organised by Charles (Safari by Leo) to all tourists visiting Tanzania!

Best Biking for Authentic Village Experience - Went on the bike ride with Charles and it was fantastic. First, he is extremely knowledgeable about history and culture, so you can learn a lot during the tour. In addition, Charles is a great guy and wonderful guide. He really provides a glimpse into authentic mountain village life, including a visit to a school where he did volunteer work, and a visit to the home of a local resident. Truly, one of the best ways you can spend a day (or half day) in Moshi.

Amazing experience with the best people - We had an amazing day with our biking guides Charles and Said. We cycled in the countryside around Moshi, through small villages and even visited a school! We were enthousiastically greeted everywhere and got to meet the extremely friendly people of Tanzania this way. We went to a beautiful hot spring, were we had a refreshing swim and nice lunch with our guides. The whole trip Charles and Said provided us with interesting information about the culture and scenery, while at the same time singing and having a great laugh :). We also had the pleasure of meeting safari expert Leo (since she wasn't on safari, she got to join us on the bike ride) who knows everything about wildlife and is the extremely friendly owner of Safaribyleo. Even when one of our bikes had a flat tire, they made sure to keep the vibes positive - hakuna matata :) - and fixed it professionally and quickly. All together this was an incredible experience with amazing people, we would totally recommend this to anyone who would like to combine adventure with meeting the beautiful culture of Tanzania!

Bike/walking tour in Moshi town - We did the bike/walking tour around Moshi with Charles (Leo's husband). If you want to experience the local atmosphere and escape from the most touristic spots, this is your tour! We cycled through the villages next to Moshi and we could interact with their people and know more about their day-to-day life. Charles explained a lot of things (culture, history, nature....). He was very friendly and attentive and we felt very comfortable with him. We also walked through the markets, had lunch in a good restaurant, and we ended our tour with a beer in a rooftop with views of Moshi. We didn't see Mount Kilimanjaro (it was partly cloudy) but the tour was worth it.
(Careful with the cars! ;) )

Charles made my day 😀 - Amazing day on our bikes 😀 I have seen so much and learnt a lot about the history, politics, education and everyday life. Charles answered all my questions and showed me the foothill of Kilimanjaro, villiage life, coffee plants. There is no topic he wouldn’t discuss with me. After a while, you have feeling that he is a long known friend of yours. I haven’t felt so great and relaxed for very long. Highly recommend this guy!

- The views were absolutely beautiful. My guide, Alpha, was very patient and gracious as I struggled. Definitely challenging but worth it.
