A must do! - Very knowledgeable staff. We had 5 whale sitings on my trip. One came right next to the side of our boat. A must if you are in Monterey. Definitely take seasickness medicine, as the swells are big. They sell it at the ticket desk.

Delighted to See Grey Whales - We enjoyed our experience seeing grey whales for first time and although we only saw one whale up close, we saw several from afar. The driver did everything he could in search of as many whales as possible. Be prepared for cool and warm conditions i.e. hat, jacket, etc. Dress in layers with a rainproof jacket.

Make sure you check in at... - Make sure you check in at an RV to get tickets before you make your way to the boat. Don’t bother going into the main office, you’ll be rushed out before even getting to ask any questions!

Buyer beware - This tour was canceled less than 24 hours before departure. We flew in from Chicago and Texas and based hotel logistics around this tour. The last minute cancellation was not appreciated. Additionally, I called the number twice and no one answered the phone. There was an earlier tour that you could’ve asked us if we wanted to be accommodated on. This was extremely poor customer service. And my refund has not been issued.

Do not book - lack of business integrity - Do not book with them. They cancelled at the time of check in when everyone was already there. Nobody got any communication that it was cancelled and most folks had driven several hours to come here. Refused to give a refund, only a future voucher, which doesn’t make sense if you don’t live in the area.

Unfortunately disappointing - The tour left an hour late without notifying us. They knew the previous tour would be coming back late, so why didn't they let us know? I sat on top in the VIP session. I brought gloves, down coat, wool hat and a small blanket, and even inside the shelter, it was freezing. Not the tour operator's fault. The seas were high. In the shelter was a water cooler that fell on me since it wasn't tied down, even though the crew knew the seas would be rocky. The naturalist didn't share much. It took us an hour to get to where they last saw whales. He could have helped us pass this boring time by sharing info about the Monterey Bay Canyon or sea life. We saw two spouts and the backs of the two whales. Again, not the tour operator's fault. But the naturalist told me the whales really don't start coming to Monterey Bay until late February. So why does the tour operator even have trips knowing it will be disappointing and prompt reviews like this? On the way back, I went downstairs to the enclosed area to get out of the cold. I was surprised how close the benches facing each other were. It didn't look like it would be comfortable for the 3-hour trip. I drove to Salinas the week before to take the morning tour, and stayed in a hotel so I would be on time. The night before, they canceled, but it was too late to cancel my hotel. So if you book this, call and ensure they already have enough people booked for it to be a go. I've been on other whale watching trips in Monterey Bay and I'm afraid this one wasn't up to snuff.

WTF that was a waste of time - Make sure the trip is actually available before you buy tickets ,stand at the dock and be told by the ships crew that that time slot hasn’t been available for a long time

Buyer beware. - I would never use viator again. I thought I was buying a Monterey whale watching tour, but what they sold me was a Moss Landing whale watching tour. Completely different city. Since we werent in Moss Landing we could not make the tour. AND I am out a little under $400.
