The journey begins at our base in the Sólheimajökull Parking Lot, approximately a 35-minute drive from the town of Vík. Here, participants meet their friendly, certified glacier guide. Following a safety briefing and gear-up, they will set off on a picturesque walk towards the ice, passing a glacier lagoon where blue icebergs gracefully float in the water.

Upon stepping onto the ice, participants will explore a frozen realm of towering ridges and deep blue formations. • Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory (available to rent for a fee if needed)
• The tour is rated as easy - no prior experience is needed but guests should expect to walk ~3km over uneven terrain
• Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.
