Exhilarating, adrenaline pumping action. - The tour was phenomenal. Our tour guide was hilarious, he kept it light and fun the whole time. The jeep ride was very fun. The terrain is difficult so the drive was very bumpy but expected. The super jeep makes the drive more exciting. The caves were great, we hot to scale to the top of the ice caves, totally optional. Its not for everyone but the views are breathtaking. A mist do when you are here. They were punctual, professional and all the safety precautions were spot on. Highly recommend.

A trip to remember - What a fun day, even with getting stuck in some snow. They placed us in another van and we moved on. A great experience for our entire family. Would definitely do this trip again and recommend to others.

Such a great experience... - Such a great experience for our family of 4. We brought our 9 and 7 year olds and they loved it! It is warmer than I would have thought so you don’t need a bunch of layers. If you get car sick easy sit up front- the ride is bumpy!

Great Tour - Tour guide was great. Ice caves were amazing! We did have to wait 30 mins past our scheduled time because the trip before us was delayed but was worth the wait.

Katla Caves - Must Do - Hilke (apologies if I spelled that wrong).was a FANTASTIC guide! He was informative and entertaining. Made sure to allow our group to stop to take photos or take them for us. He was also a great driver navigating the terrain to get us to the caves. The caves themselves were once in a lifetime and so worth experiencing.

Fun trip - The good things: The trip from Vik by super jeep (a van with huge tires) was crazy, we were there after a snow so the track was through snow drifts etc. The driver was very skilled and though we were bounced around we always felt safe. We stopped once for a pictures at a beautiful spot, then went to the location of the ice cave. Here we geared up and hiked up to the entrance, went through the cave (a tunnel) and then back. The cave was very cool, I'd never been in anything like it. The not so good things: The trip is advertised as a small group, technically each transport carries 13 people. The problem is that 3 small groups go at once- so the group is really ~40 people with 3 guides. All the groups went through the cave one at a time, so it wasn't like there was a lot of time to look around. The ice cave can change every year, so the pictures you see aren't reflective of our experience. The tunnel ceiling was quite low in many spots, there were only a few places you could stand up fully, and I'm of average height. We went in the afternoon and it was also quite dark. I also wish that our guide had said more about the landscape we were driving through and how the ice caves are formed- etc. It wasn't very 'guided'- other than for safety.

Don’t waste your money on Katla ice cave - Don’t waste your time. It’s not a cave. It’s a small tunnel about 75 feet long. We spent about a total of 7 minutes inside. The rest was an hour long jeep ride, a hike in, and the tour guide doing her best to waste time and make the trip longer. Seriously. It’s not a cave. It’s a tunnel half of which you can’t stand. They walk you to the end of it, waste more time taking your picture and you’re out. The group spent more time sliding down a hill than in a cave. Absolutely a waste of money
