Elia Mountain - The Elia Monastery is situated in Kakheti, in the southern part of Dedoplistskaro, on a double-peaked limestone mountain. The Temple of Saint Ilia Tezbiteli, dating back to the sixth century, is located on Mount Elia. Every year on August 2, many people gather here to honor the great prophet, Saint Ilia Tezbiteli. They spend the night on the double-peaked mountain and offer prayers at the base of the Elia rock.
Khornabuji - Khornabuji Castle, sometimes referred to as the Castle of Queen Tamara, is an ancient fortress in eastern Georgia. It is located about two miles (3 kilometers) north of Dedoplistsqaro in the Kakheti region. The castle’s ruins are perched on the impressive Tsiv-Gombori Range. It was likely built at the end of the 1st millennium BC, serving as the sole fortification overseeing the Iori and Alazani river valleys. Archaeological work in the 1970s revealed extensive evidence of a settlement that thrived on the flat land below the castle during and before the medieval era. The earliest written records date back to the reign of Vakhtang the Wolf Head in the 5th century, when Khornabuji was one of the largest settlements in Kakheti.
Mijniskure - Kaslis Kure is a bay on the Alazani River peninsula, where the natural habitat for nuts has been preserved, along with unique specimens of giant ash trees, oaks, and elms. The neck of the bay is only 30-40 meters wide, while the area spans over 204 hectares. Today, the groves are fully preserved and rich in flora. In Georgia, this bay is the exclusive habitat for natural nuts, where the only specimens of giant ash, oaks, and elms are found. This is the origin of “Kaklis Kure.”
Tour to Vashlovani National Park, Bodbe Monastery, and Signagi
Vashlovani National Park - Vashlovani National Park is located in eastern Georgia and was established in 1935 to protect its unique shallow forests. In April 2003, the Reserve’s area was expanded to 84.80 km², and Vashlovani National Park was created, covering 251.14 km². The area is known for its dry climate, sitting only 150-50 meters above sea level. Vashlovani State Reserve is renowned for its unique badland-like desert and semi-desert steppe vegetation, as well as its arid and deciduous forests. It is also home to the impressive “Sharp Walls” cliffs and the stunning Alazani flood plains and forests.
Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino - The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe, located 2 km from the town of Sighnaghi, Kakheti, Georgia. Originally constructed in the 9th century, it underwent significant remodeling, particularly in the 17th century. The monastery now serves as a nunnery and is a major pilgrimage site in Georgia, due to its connection with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are enshrined there.
Signagi - Signagi is a town in Georgia’s easternmost region of Kakheti and serves as the administrative center of the Signagi Municipality. Although it is one of Georgia’s smallest towns, Signagi is a popular tourist destination due to its location in the heart of Georgia’s wine-growing regions, as well as its charming landscapes, pastel houses, and narrow, cobblestone streets. Situated on a steep hill, Signagi offers views of the vast Alazani Valley, with the Caucasus Mountains visible in the distance.
