Well and respectfully toward the local community guided tour in a quite densitive area/topic - Very good guide- I went with Leena, a local resident. Very informative! First I was indecisive because of ethical reasons, but this Tour is helping the community and being very respectful toward locals! Clearly recommend!

Fascinating Dharavi Slum Tour - DONT miss it! - I first visited Dharavi a few years ago and suggested to my wife that we should take a tour during our holiday this year. We were both very impreesed with the current set up and were able to get a really good picture of the work which is undertaken to give the people of Dharavi the opportunity to increase their work skills and improve their life style. I would recommend to anyone visiting India to spend sometime in Dharavi.

eye opening - Really good guide for an eyeopening tour. Very informative and we saw a side of life that we would not have explored on our own. The whole place was a hive of industry and whilst living conditions were basic the general atmosphere was one of well being. Definitely worth doing .

Positive and humbling experience. - I was somewhat concerned going into this that we were engaging in "poverty tourism" but from the very start it was made clear that the whole visit was about demonstrating the very positive aspects of the area and ultimately the hard working, friendly and positive nature of the local community. Any visitor will undoubtedly be shocked by the incredibly high density of the living conditions and the closeness of work factories to living areas. Plus some off the walkways you go through are very tight and anyone who is concerned by tight spaces needs to be aware of this. Everyone we met from the guide to the local children were friendly and understood the positive nature of the visit. Uplifting tour that made us think differently when you hear the word "slum" - lots of positives to see and hear about but you certainly never loose sight that the inhabitants of Dharavi have a challenging life.
