Often referred to as ‘one of the largest slums in Asia,’ Dharavi is better seen as the vibrant heart of Mumbai.
This tour is organized by Reality Tours & Travel, a socially responsible travel enterprise that dedicates a substantial portion of its profits to local community development.
Participants will witness a diverse array of business activities, including recycling, pottery-making, embroidery, baking, soap production, leather tanning, poppadom-making, and more.
The tour also includes a visit to the residential areas.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see the community center managed by our NGO, Reality Gives, which is supported by the tour profits.
Transportation is provided from your hotel to Dharavi. For those staying in South Mumbai (e.g., Colaba, Marine Drive), the journey will include passing by several historical sites of interest, with a stop at Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest open-air laundry.
For guests staying in North Mumbai, such as Bandra or Juhu, the tour will proceed directly to Dharavi.
- We shall pick you up from Colaba/Airport, drive through some sites in south Mumbai towards Dhobi Ghat and the continuing to Dharavi. The total travelling duration is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes.
