The grand tour with Nikhil - Enjoyed the history and culture of the caves. The tour guide Nikhil was extremely competent and knowledgeable about the history. His picture taking skills were excellent as well as showing us where and how to pose to get the best angles in the caves. I highly recommend Nikhil if you’re ever in Elephanta

Elephant caves and Mumbai city tour highlights - I was guided on a personal tour of Mumbai’s cultural highlights by a resident female guide. That special person who was kind, understanding, wise beyond her years and treated me with compassion and utmost concern for my well being during a warm, humid day in March. She masterfully covered history, satisfying my thirst for knowledge and her insights about India. Divya, is the kind of guide everyone would want. She met me enroute and we chatted plans for the day. I was filled with excitement for the planned tour and far exceeded my hopes, despite the fact that my digestive issues added complexity to our day. We visited Dhobi ghat, the Gateway of India monument, the Elephant Caves, Gandhi’s House, Victoria Station and briefly, Dharavi slum. Divya was a font of knowledge that she related at a comfortable pace throughout the tour. Her historical knowledge was impressive, as was her ability to relate personal experiences and unique insights. Those touches enrich a tour immensely, and for which I was extremely thankful. In addition to expertly acting as my teacher, her concern for my well being extended throughout the afternoon, because as the day wore on my bothersome digestive issues became a challenge. Despite that, we completed the tour and I was supremely happy that Divya graciously opened her home, for a window into life at Dharavi, which otherwise would have been a void in my understanding of the Indian experience. Sharing that space with her and her mother was a precious moment for me. I most highly recommend this tour for the sights toured, but if you’re fortunate enough to be guided by Divya, you’ll also be enriched with an experience to remember for a lifetime!!!

Great knowledgeable guide to the elephanta caves - Nikhil was amazing. The amount of knowledge he has about the place is great. He is a local, he lives in the village nearby (we had extra time and I got a close look) so you'll be supporting the local economy. He also loves to take pictures so if you are traveling alone like me he'll make sure to take amazing pictures.
