Great tour. Great guide - Nitin was our tour guide. He met us off the ferry and helped us with paying the entry fee to the caves. He was excellent at taking photos and explaining the history and meaning of the caves. After the tour he took us to a local Cafe and we enjoyed a cold beer. Highly recommended to get a tour guide to get the full experience

Perfect Tour: Took the visit for routine to magical. Highly recommend! - We arrived to Elephanta caves and were greeted by a wonderful guide named Nitan. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough while guiding us through this breathtaking piece of history. I felt as if we had a local friend here that was eager to show us why this place mattered to him so much. Due to the large prescene of crowded group tours and the popularity of such a spirtual place near Mumbai, it made a huge difference to have a quality, experienced guide taking us on a private tour. The pictures that were taken were absolutely incredible as well. Nitan captured out moments here in such as way that it was worth the cost of the tour alone to have the pictures. His private tour of the caves concluded with a visit to a local temple that has a special place in the local village. As a result of this, I felt as if we truly got an appreciation for the entire place and not just the caves itself. I would highly recommend this tour company as well as Nitan himself for your visit to the caves as well as Mumbai itself.

Well worth the trek - I really wanted to visit the caves and due to some changes in my business schedule, I had to request several changes. This comoany was so helpful and accommodating. We were able to see the caves and Nitin was a great tour guide. Having grown up on the island gave him a unique perspective. It was well worth the challenging ascent. Our guide gave us several breaks and we were all able to make the trip with minimal issues. I absolutely loved the ferry boat. I recommend doing this tour separately from acfull-day tour. You will be exhausted if you try to add this at an endvof a city tour. Highly recommend!

Caves are worth the trip but this is NOT what you would expect from a private tour - This was booked under the impression that it was a private tour (just for our group) but the ferry ride from Mumbai to Elefanta Caves was via a public (?) and very crowded ferry. The first portion of the tour was dedicated to a few Mumbai sites. The guide was great but we were crammed into a 3-row SUV that was not really designed to fit three rows. Very uncomfortable to ride and to get in and out of at each stop. Then we were taken to the ferry and sent on our own to meet another guide on Elefanta island. The guide was very knowledgeable and took great pictures for us. But the time was not well planned; we were rushed towards the end, which led to running down the long, steep stairways so not to miss the ferry back to Mumbai. At the bottom of the stairs we were taken to the guide’s cousin’s shop, after which we were sent on our way alone, to a fast walk alongside train tracks to catch the ferry. The caves were fascinating and worth the trip though!
