Highly Recommend - Thanks Jamie! - Although very heavy subject matter, this was a wonderful experience. Jamie was an amazing guide - from effortlessly herding us through the train and bus stops, to her expert knowledge on Dachau, this tour was an absolute highlight.

Great tour - This was a great tour, having the private guide was great, there is so much to look at but the guide helps to keep you corralled to a 1/2 day time frame so that you can see other things that day. Highly recommend this tour .

Something everyone should do. It’s history. It happened, we must never forget and we need to pay tribute. - Our tour guide was excellent. He was informative and made this very somber experience enjoyable. This tour is something everyone should do. It’s history. It happened, we must never forget and we need to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in such horrific ways.

Fascinating tour into our recent history - Very somber but brilliant tour. Our guide Jamie was very informative and interesting. The tour was the perfect length of time to be able to see everything as well as go back to areas of interest for personal reflection

Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide - My family of four (including teen boys ages 16 and 13) went on a Sunday morning tour with Aileen in early January. She met us near the train station and had taken care of the roundtrip tickets, and provided the right balance of knowledge on the subject of Dachau and the surrounding history without getting too long-winded as some tour guides can do. Also appreciated some of the in-between conversations on German culture, etc. Highly recommend this tour and Dachau is a must while visiting Munich.

Excellent guide and tour. - Hein was an excellent guide. He dispassionately explained the history of Dachau, including some of the historical and economic context that allowed the rise of Nazism. The tour was very good, and I highly recommend it.

Take the train and do it yourself - Take the train and bus yourself — skip the guided tour I took an early morning guided tour that uses the train and local bus to reach Dachau, which is genuinely convenient and worth knowing about. However, the experience itself was disappointing, not through any fault of the site itself, but due to the tour format. We were a small group thrown in with multiple large student groups. The result: it was nearly impossible to move through the displays properly, and our guide — while lovely as a person — was rushed throughout and lacked the depth of knowledge and emotional insight that a visit to Dachau really demands. If you’ve done any reading on the subject beforehand, you’ll quickly find yourself ahead of the commentary. Dachau deserves time, silence, and reflection. It deserves a guide who can deliver genuine empathy and historical nuance — not someone racing against a clock and a crowd. My strong recommendation: Take the train and local bus yourself. Arm yourself with headphones and either music or the audio guide, and go at your own pace. That’s the only way to truly absorb the weight of what happened here.
