Great day out with Ganesh - My partner and I did the tour with Ganesh as our guide. He was an amazing English speaking guide who shared a lot of great local knowledge and stories. We got to get a great sense of life in Munnar from a real local. We enjoyed his company for the full day. Unfortunately we did not see any elephants because they are on their own schedule and sightings are never guaranteed but the tour is still very worth while and beautiful. Walking through the tea fields and seeing the waterfalls were a big highlight.

Awesome jeep tour of Munnar - Really great way to see Munnar! Our tour guide Shiva was excellent, gave us heaps of information about all the site along the way and you could tell how passionate he was about his job. Particular highlights were the tea plantations. We unfortunately did not get to see elephants on our trip but that was our fault as we had to get back to our hotel so had to rush off, our tour guide was willing to wait longer for us to see them if we were able too!

Excellent Tour with Ganesh - My wife and I had a great time on an all day tour with Ganesh. He made it clear right away that everything would be on our schedule, so we could stop and take pictures wherever we wanted and spend as much or as little time as we wanted at any one attraction. We really liked that aspect of the tour. Ganesh shared interesting information with us about the local culture, plant life, and agriculture. We saw some epic waterfalls while driving around in his awesome jeep. He spotted langur monkeys while driving so we pulled over for a while and watched them jumping through the trees. He also spotted some giant squirrels. We enjoyed sharing tea and cookies (what was the name of those cookies?!) with Ganesh while sitting next to tea fields that look like a desktop background. It was a necessary “pick me up” in the middle of an enjoyable but long tour. The hotel where we ate our afternoon/early evening meal was superb. Great food. The end of the tour is a stop near a watering hole for elephants. Since they are wild you can’t say when or if they will come, so it ends up being a waiting game where the guest decides how long they are willing to wait. I was quite tired by the end of the day, and only waited about an hour and then wanted to leave. Ganesh reiterated that we were on our own schedule, so the choice about leaving or staying and waiting for the elephants as long as we wanted was completely up to us. We decided to leave and the elephants ended up coming after we left. But even when we left, he told his friend to let him know if the elephants showed up within 10-20 after leaving so he could turn the jeep back around so that we could see the elephants. World class customer service. Thank you Ganesh!

Great day with varied experiences. - Fantastic day, with a great mix of beautiful scenery and cultural history. The traditional food lunch was great. Our guide was amazing, and knew hidden places away from the crowds. Unfortunately we did not see any elephants, but the trip was still 100% worth it!

Great day in nature - We had a great day with our guide and driver Ganesh. The ride goes across small and very winding roads through the rainforest and past very nice tea plantations. The elephants were unfortunately late today and only arrived at the Viewpiont at 7:30 p.m. when we were on our way back. Nevertheless, the day was very successful and we can especially recommend our very nice and prudent guide/driver!

Amazing to see the elephants and some fun off roading too! - Our guide Mani was fantastic, he is very knowledgable about the area (he’s lived here all his life) we really enjoyed the other parts of the tour, but as soon as he heard elephants were arriving at Anakulam (they got there early than normal that day) we zipped off on the jeep and got to spend ages watching them on the watering hole, it was fantastic!

Amazing experience, but be aware of long waiting times! (See review for details) - The tour through the tea plantations was fantastic, our guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about how tea leaves are harvested. He also showed us and taught us about many other types of crop we'd never seen before such as black pepper, coffee, cocoa and cardamom! The views through the plantation drive were incredible. We also loved the tiger cave visit and the waterfalls along the way! The hikes were fun and not too challenging (you need good joints as they're rocky and steep, but stamina isn't a problem as it's only a short trip), and the views were awesome! We'd dropped a star for this review because the timing was a bit off and we got back late to our hotel and missed dinner despite asking to return on time. We felt slightly unprepared for what the afternoon would bring, as we arrived at the elephant viewing spot at 4pm and ended up waiting there for 4.5 hours. We didn't see any elephants, which wasn't a problem but the wait was much longer than expected and there wasn't much to do other than sit in the jeep, so it would have been helpful to know this in advance to bring a book or something! And as I mentioned, we ended up back at our hotel gone 10pm despite the 8pm finish as per the booking. Overall, we still had an amazing time and highly recommend the experience hence 4 stars, but the potential sitting around is something to think about when booking!

Great day, well organised. - Ganesh was excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly and a good driver. We didn't see any elephants but that didn't spoil a great experience.

Beautiful tour but no elephants - The Jeep was perfect, and the driver and guide, Ganesh, was a genius behind the wheel. The road is narrow, winding, and full of tight corners, and he drives very conscientiously. He's also friendly, stopping for photos or a short walk through the wonderful scenery of the tea plantation hills. The tour is fantastic, but a bit tricky: elephant sightings are quite unlikely during the rainy season. It's important to know this beforehand. We had a beautiful day, but without any elephants.
