• Gatura Greens - Pick up from Nairobi at 7:00 am. The experience begins at 8.30 am with tea and biscuits while the host gives a history about the farm, followed by an introductory tea tasting before you head out to the purple tea farm. While at the farm, you will be taught how to pick tea, after which you’ll pick some purple tea and be taught how to make their very own specialty orthodox tea. This includes learning to roast it, roll it by hand, dry it then pack it for yourselves to take home. After making your own hand-picked and rolled purple tea, you’ll head off to the waterfall trek through a beautiful bamboo forest finishing off with a refreshing dip at the waterfall by the farm. Return back to the farmhouse in time for a farm-fresh 3-course meal. Depart to Nairobi later in the afternoon.

This tour offers a visit to Kenya’s first purple tea farm, providing an authentic experience that includes a tea farm tour and a tasting session featuring over 10 varieties of teas produced in their cottage factory. Participants will learn the art of tea picking and create their own specialty orthodox tea. This process involves roasting, hand-rolling, drying, and packaging the tea to take home.
