The rhythmic beat of drums and harmonious singing greeted me as I approached Muri Beach, setting the tone for what promised to be an unforgettable adventure. The crew, a lively bunch of multi-talented individuals, welcomed us aboard with infectious energy. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but the allure of exploring the vibrant marine life of Rarotonga’s Muri Lagoon was irresistible.

Our vessel, a glass-bottom boat, offered a unique perspective of the underwater world as we cruised towards the marine reserve. The anticipation built as we neared our snorkeling destination, and I couldn’t wait to dive into the crystal-clear waters. Although a couple of items ran out by the time the men ate, no one left hungry, and the camaraderie among the group made for a lively meal.

After lunch, we were treated to a cultural exhibition, complete with coconut tree climbing and pareu tying demonstrations. The crew’s comedic flair added a lighthearted touch to the show, leaving everyone in high spirits. As the adventure drew to a close, we had a chance to splash around on the beach, soaking in the last rays of the sun.
