Great class! The food is fantastic! - The restaurant opens the door 30 minutes before the class so don’t arrive too early or you have to sit on outdoor benches and wait. Get specific directions to walk from cruise port. Know ur port location as there are 3 different docks depending on your ship. Ask VIATOR chat agent for your exact directions.

Authentic experience - Just a few minute easy walk from the cruise pier to the restaurant. It felt very authentic. We got to make or help make out food which was fun and entertaining. I would recommend this activity.

Must do this experience - Awesome and immersive view into Mayan culture and cuisine. It was nice to learn the history of some of Mexico's popular foods and how to create some of the most freshing beverages for hot weather. They also give you the recipes so you can recreate them on your own!

A little Mayan gem of a restaurant… - Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon learning about typical Mayan cooking and preparation, a bit of history, participating in some of the process, and then enjoying a delicious meal freshly prepared by the restaurant… also a musical Mayan ceremony prior to the meal ….restaurant hidden away in a mall near the Celebrity cruise port called IXKOOL…simple decor,. Clean and modern, but the food had a history all its own. Highly recommend to take a cooking class or just stop by for a meal….

Classy, informative, hands-on - Great, like-new venue (Ix Kool restaurant). Good blend of professional video background on the Mayan link, hands on demonstration, do-it-yourself, and chef provided additional food. 3 different drinks, and at half a dozen different foods plus dessert. Nice change from all the tourist traps. Only 3 of us at our class so nicely personal too. Very well done!

Fantastic culinary and cultural experrience - Very informative cooking class mixed with Mayan traditions. Food was wonderful and plentiful. We took it as a ship excursion but would be easy to do on own from port. The restaurant is across the street from where we ported and an easy walk. Learned a lot about Mayan culture.
