- Mysuru Palace - The tour begins at the magnificent Mysore Palace, where visitors will spend an hour exploring this architectural marvel. Built in the Indo-Saracenic style, it beautifully combines Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic architectural elements. The Palace is a three-story stone structure featuring marble domes and a 145-foot five-story tower. The guided tour includes visits to the Public Hall, Private Hall, Dolls Pavilion, and the Royal Wedding Hall.
- Dariya Daulat Palace - Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace - The journey continues to the historic town of Sri Rangapatnam, the 18th-century capital of Tipu Sultan, known as the Tiger of Mysore. The tour traces his life, from his legendary encounter with a tiger to his courageous battles against the British, his administrative and economic reforms, and his pioneering use of rockets in warfare. Tipu Sultan is recognized for his innovative use of rockets, which the British later adapted during World War I.
Visitors will explore Dariya Daulat Bagh, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, built in the Indo-Saracenic style. The palace features stunning murals depicting Tipu’s battles with the British. A highlight is the renowned painting “Storming of Srirangapatna” by Sir Robert Ker Porter, illustrating the fall of Srirangapatna on May 4, 1799, when the British defeated Tipu’s forces.
- Captain Bailey’s Dungeon - The tour includes a visit to Colonel Bailey Dungeon, infamous for being the place where Tipu imprisoned several British officers during the war. Fascinating stories about this notorious site will be shared during the tour.
- Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum - The tour proceeds to India’s first sand sculpture museum, conceived and created by Gowri, a prominent sand sculptor. The museum took four months and 115 loads of construction sand to complete. It features 16 themes and 150 sculptures on display.
- St. Philomena’s Church - The tour visits St. Philomena’s Church, originally built in 1840 and known as St. Joseph Chavez before being renamed. Initially a small church, it was expanded to its current form in 1933 during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. In 1843, Mysore King Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar constructed the church to serve the European residents of Mysore. Today, it stands as the second-largest church in Asia.
