Excellent experience - Excellent guide Bestie took us through the history of elephants and their conservation. We fed the elephants watched them taking a mud bath and being washed.

Discover the elephants - Great experience, educational and moving. The caregivers and guides gave us a lot of information about the elephants present in the refuge, the history of elephants in Thailand and their current living conditions. We were able to approach the elephants in the jungle but keeping a reasonable distance for their well-being. We fed them from the top of a kiosk. We recommend this experience, everything is done with respect for animals.

Well informed, Happy elephant brill visit - Very very informative. Loved Our Time my husband dream to meet relaxed safe elephants. so well looked after, transport food and drinks. Everyone was smiling

What an absolutely... - What an absolutely amazing experience!
The staff here clearly care and respect the elephants so much, everything they do is for their wellbeing. It was great making the food for the elephants and then getting to feed them, and a privilege to walk amongst them in the wild. Truly special experience and would highly recommend.

Best day EVER! - At Samui Elephant Sanctuary, elephants that once worked hard in logging or tourism, (some for 40 years) are given a second chance at life.
Rescued from difficult pasts, they now live peacefully on forested land where they are free to roam, socialise, and simply be elephants again.
Samui Elephant Sanctuary
Visitors don’t ride or control them—instead, they gently connect by feeding them, walking alongside them, and quietly observing as the elephants eat, play in the mud, and swim.
The sanctuary’s purpose is simple but powerful: to protect these animals, give them dignity and freedom, and show people a more ethical way to experience elephants—one based on care, respect, and letting them live naturally.
This was the highlight of our week and a day we will never forget 🐘❤️
Would highly recommend everyone visit this amazing sanctuary and see the wonderful work the dedicated staff have accomplished.

Too little time with the elephants! - This ethical sanctuary is to be applauded and supported for its conservation and rescue efforts. However, my daughter and I expected them to give us more time to observe and (ethically) interact with the elephants. Instead, this was curtailed too strictly and to the point of frustration for the visitors. The time spent on introducing the sanctuary's work was overkill and overstated, followed by too much interaction with the managers. Exposure to the actual elephants was way too small and with hardly any opportunity to watch the mahouts care for them.
Disappointing. Our views were shared with other visitors that day.
