  All stops along the route are optional. Feel free to visit one or two, or simply cycle past if you wish. The length of your time on the Greenway is entirely your choice.
  Sallins is the historic location where trade on the Grand Canal began, with horse-drawn passenger and cargo barges transporting goods between the quaint Kildare village and Dublin in 1780.
  Today, Sallins has evolved into a lively inland harbour village, featuring four award-winning restaurants and bars along the waterfront, as well as a variety of boats, barges, houseboats, and a brewery.
• Ardclough - Arth’s Cafe is an excellent spot for lunch, and you can enjoy complimentary entry to the “From Malt to Vault” Exhibition at the Ardclough Visitors Centre. The Arthur Guinness Grave Museum offers a combination of display boards, interactive touchscreen displays, and a short video of the nearby Oughterard Graveyard, where Arthur Guinness is laid to rest in the family vault. “From Malt to Vault” at the Arthur’s Grave Centre vividly tells the inspiring story of a teenage entrepreneur. This young man, whose grandfather sold beer from a donkey cart, went on to create the world’s most famous brewing brand.
• Cliff at Lyons - Cliff at Lyons is a luxurious countryside hotel located on a historic 18th-century estate beside the Grand Canal, featuring beautifully restored buildings such as an old mill, cottages, and gardens. They offer gourmet dining; it’s advisable to contact them in advance to reserve a table. Alternatively, you can visit the Pantry Cafe for a coffee and cake.
• McEvoys Pub - This is a historic, canalside pub near Celbridge, renowned for its unique setting on the Grand Canal, serving as a local landmark with a long history connected to the canal’s infrastructure, known for its traditional atmosphere and beer garden on sunny days.
  Take a break for a refreshment in the beer garden before starting your return cycle back to Sallins.

For those who enjoy a taste of the “black stuff,” McEvoys Pub in Hazelhatch, situated 13 km from Sallins, is an ideal spot for a refreshing pause. Upon returning to the village, end your day at the Railway Inn Heritage Pub, a delightful place to relax and mingle with the locals.
