The Manta Ray Experience invites you to plunge into the clear waters of the Yasawa Islands, where you can drift with the graceful manta rays that visit a specific channel from May to October each year. Observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is considered one of nature’s most incredible spectacles!

You’ll journey through the Mamanucas and Yasawas before arriving at Mantaray Island Resort. After a briefing and a refreshing tropical juice, you’ll board tender boats for a 75-minute guided manta ray adventure. From May to October, during carefully selected tides in collaboration with the experienced team at Mantaray Island Resort, there is a high likelihood of encountering manta rays feeding in the ‘manta channel’. You’ll have the opportunity to swim and snorkel among them as they gracefully navigate their favored feeding areas. Afterward, you’ll return to the resort for lunch and have time to enjoy the excellent snorkeling just off the beach, provided the tide is high enough. Our catamaran will pick you up again at 3pm for your return trip to Port Denarau.

• Guided manta ray experience or alternatively a reef snorkelling experience with specialised guides
• 3 hours at Mantaray Island Resort including a pizza lunch, a soft drink and water

Embark on a cruise from Port Denarau through the stunning Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, reaching Mantaray Island Resort in approximately 3 hours each way. Along the journey, guests are dropped off and picked up from various resorts before arriving at Mantaray Island Resort.

After a brief orientation, guests will board tender boats to snorkel with the magnificent manta rays. For those who are less confident swimmers, buoyancy aids are provided to ensure comfort and safety.

In collaboration with the skilled team at Mantaray Island Resort, dates are chosen based on weather and environmental conditions to maximize the likelihood of encountering manta rays in the manta channel. However, as these are wild animals, sightings cannot be guaranteed. If manta rays are not seen, guests will still enjoy a guided snorkel through one of Fiji’s most vibrant reefs.

The adventure also includes a meal at the resort’s “Manta Pizza Shack,” accompanied by a soft drink or bottled water. Additional beverages are available for purchase, and vegetarian options can be arranged—please inform us when booking.
