Zenko-ji Temple - Participate in a private ‘goma’ prayer fire ceremony, performing the ritual yourself, within the Daikanjin temple complex at Zenko-ji. Following this, embark on a detailed guided tour of Zenko-ji, with additional free time to explore the temple grounds on your own, if time allows.
Patio Daimon - Experience the blend of tradition and modernity by making your own matcha while learning about this authentic Japanese art and performance. Once the experience concludes, your guide will bid farewell, leaving you to enjoy the rest of your evening at the Shukubo.
Shukubo (Temple Lodge) and Temple Tranquility
Zenko-ji Temple - On the second day, enjoy a self-guided tour, allowing you to explore at your own pace. Receive a Warm Welcome at Zenko-ji’s Morning Service, known as the ‘o-asaji’. This ceremony occurs every morning throughout the year, led by the heads of the Tendai and Jodo sects – the two Buddhist sects responsible for the temple – and is open to all participants, regardless of background or faith.
