A particularly rewarding activity in Nagarkot is the picturesque hike to Changu Narayan. The path meanders through lush forests, traditional villages, and past ancient temples and monasteries, offering a glimpse into rural Nepali life. Along the journey, visitors will see farmers working in the fields, providing insight into local agriculture and traditions.
After about two hours of hiking, visitors will arrive at Trishul Danda, a viewpoint offering spectacular views of all three major cities in Kathmandu. The trail continues for another hour to Changu Narayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its ancient architecture, intricate wood carvings, and rich cultural significance.
