Samburu-Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru - Depart the lodge shortly after breakfast to continue the Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari, proceeding to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lunch is enjoyed en route, followed by an afternoon game drive at the picturesque lake. The park spans 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbucks, buffaloes, reedbucks, and occasionally leopards. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park years ago, with white rhinos found at the southern end. The park is renowned as an ornithologist’s paradise, with over 400 bird species.
Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara National Reserve - The third safari destination in the Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari is the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Depart the camp after breakfast and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara. Lunch is served at the camp before embarking on evening game drives. Dinner and overnight stay are at Enkorok Mara Camp.
Masai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Explore the Masai Mara, known for its large mammals and diverse birdlife. Big cats, including cheetahs and leopards, are prominent and relatively easy to spot. The Mara crossing is a wildlife spectacle, with up to a million wildebeest and 200,000 zebras attempting the journey each year. Watching the animals gather at the crossing point, one can feel the tension as they decide when to brave the crocodile-infested Mara River. The Nile crocodiles thrive during this time as thousands of animals migrate north from the Serengeti Plains to graze on the lush Mara grasslands.
Masai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara, with its abundance of large mammals and diverse birdlife. There is an option for full days out in the field with lunch on the savannah or returning to camp for lunch.
Masai Mara - Lake Victoria
Lake Victoria - Depart the camp after breakfast and proceed to Tanzania via the Isebania Border, heading to Speke Bay Lodge for a boat ride. Speke Bay Lodge is situated on the southeastern shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania, East Africa, 15 kilometers from the Serengeti National Park. Speke Bay is part of Speke Gulf, named after the explorer John Hanning Speke, who discovered Lake Victoria as the Nile’s source in 1858. Surrounded by savannah, the lodge resembles a small village along the lake’s shores.
Lake Victoria - Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Enter the Serengeti via Ndabaka Gate for a full day of game drives. Travel south and west to the western corridor of the Serengeti via Ndabaka Gate with a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Spend a full day exploring the park with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight stay are at Mawe Tented Camp or similar. The Serengeti is Africa’s most famous and Tanzania’s largest park, covering 14,736 sq km and adjoining the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. With a wildebeest population of about 2 million and various other hoofed species, the Serengeti attracts predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, golden jackals, and bat-eared foxes. Elephants are relatively scarce, and the few remaining black rhinoceros are confined to the Moru Koppies area. The Serengeti also offers rewarding birdwatching, with common sightings of ostriches and kori bustards, along with a variety of larks, finches, and raptors. The lilac-breasted roller is the most distinctive small bird.
Serengeti-Ngorongoro Via Olduvai Gorge
Olduvai Gorge - Morning game drives are followed by breakfast at the camp, then proceed south to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater via the historical Olduvai Gorge, with game watching interrupted only by a picnic lunch en route. Dinner and overnight stay are at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge or similar. The Olduvai Gorge features rock beds layered in a time sequence from 2 million years ago to the present. Humanoid bones dating back over 1.75 million years, including a direct ancestor of modern humans, have been found here. Fossil footprints over three million years old have also been discovered, making them the oldest known footprints. An excellent site museum allows exploration of the diggings.
Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Ngorongoro Crater - After an early morning breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full-day crater tour. Descend 2000ft into the crater by a 4-wheel drive vehicle, explore the crater, and then ascend back to Hhando Coffee Lodge / Ngorongoro Farm House/ Farm House Valley for dinner and overnight. The Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World.’ A visit to the crater is a major attraction for tourists visiting Tanzania and is considered a world-class destination. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home to the Ngorongoro Crater.
Ngorongoro - Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Enjoy breakfast before driving to Tarangire National Park. After lunch, proceed with afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight stay are at Tarangire Roika Tented Camp. Herds of up to 300 elephants dig in the dry riverbed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elands gather around the shrinking lagoons. This area boasts the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, providing a feast for predators. It is the only place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope, such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and the peculiar long-necked gerenuk, are regularly observed.
