Nairobi - Meru National Park

Meru National Park - Begin the journey from Nairobi early in the morning, embarking on a road safari to Meru National Park, which takes approximately 5 hours. Along the way, enjoy the stunning landscapes, including views of the snow-capped Mount Kenya. The road winds through deep valleys, particularly after Embu town, where several stops can be made for sightseeing.

Stop for lunch in Meru or Maua town, where you can also observe numerous miraa plantations.

Arrive at Murera gate around 3 pm. Spend the afternoon in Meru National Park, tracking animals in the bush. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.

Full Day Meru National Park

Meru National Park - After breakfast, dedicate the entire day to exploring Meru National Park, made famous by the story of Elsa the lioness from “Born Free.” Elsa was raised and released by George & Joy Adamson in this area.

Discover the region, relishing unforgettable wildlife encounters during guided game drives. Observe some of the smaller bush inhabitants. Delight in the lush riverine forests, flowing rivers, and the contrasting vast dry open plains dotted with baobabs. Meru is an untouched part of Kenya, offering a remote and rugged atmosphere.

Meru - Nairobi

Meru National Park - After breakfast, depart the camp for Nairobi, with a lunch stop in Meru town or Nanyuki. Enjoy the scenic route, featuring large wheat and French bean plantations in Timau, views of Mount Kenya, and more. Arrive in Nairobi in the early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.

Equator Marker - The equator crosses Kenya through various areas, with Nanyuki being a prime tourist spot. Here, you can cross both the North and South of the equator and capture amazing photos.

Meru National Park is wild and beautiful. Straddling the equator and bisected by 13 rivers and numerous mountain-fed streams, it is an especially beautiful area of Kenya. It has diverse scenery from woodlands at 3,400ft(1,036m) on the slopes of Nyambeni Mountain Range, north east of Mt. Kenya, to wide open plains with meandering riverbanks dotted with doum palms.

Game to view includes: lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard black rhino, zebra, gazelle, oryx and some of the rarer antelope, Lesser Kudu and duiker, also the more common Dik Dik, one of Africa’s smallest antelope. Large prides of lion can be seen and some of Kenya’s largest herds of buffalo. The rivers abound with hippo and crocodiles.
