The Maasai Mara National Reserve is part of the expansive Serengeti plains, renowned for the spectacular great wildebeest migration and home to the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino. - Maasai Mara National Reserve - On the second day, guests will wake up and enjoy a morning breakfast. Today includes a full-day game drive in the reserve, with a picnic lunch. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. The Mara Triangle, bordering the Mara River with lush grasslands and acacia woodlands, is ideal for game drives. The Mara is perhaps best known for the Great Migration, occurring annually from July to September. During these months, the yellow savannah is dotted with over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes migrating from the Serengeti to the Mara in search of food and water. - Lake Nakuru - After breakfast, guests will depart for Lake Nakuru via Nairobi. They will ascend the eastern wall of the Rift Valley, where lush coffee and tea plantations are visible, and the driver-guide will provide a brief talk about coffee farming in Kenya. A short stop-over at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photographs will be made before proceeding to Lake Nakuru, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, a game drive in the park will be conducted in search of the Big Five animals like lions, rhinos, leopards, and cheetahs, among others. - Amboseli National Park - Depart to Amboseli via Nairobi in the morning after breakfast, driving south through Maasai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro, where Amboseli is located. Kilimanjaro, guests will witness spectacular displays of wildlife such as lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, cheetahs, buffalo, and various plains animals. Observations during the game drive, with the surrounding hills, offer panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. - Bamburi Beach - Wake up to a morning breakfast ready by 6:30 AM. Today, guests will catch the SGR train to Mombasa at Emali, beginning a three-day beach stay at Bamburi in Mombasa. Life flourishes on the ocean shore, thanks to the abundant sun and vast oceans of water. Guests will be picked up at the SGR station and transferred to their hotel at the beach.
