On Day 2 of your Mount Kenya trek, begin with a hearty breakfast at Old Moses Camp before following the track uphill. At the junction, fork right and take a break at the Ontulili River. Continue contouring through the Moorland and cross the Liki North River, then proceed uphill to the breathtaking Mackinders Valley. Here, enjoy panoramic views up the valley towards Shipton Camp, a surreal setting below towering peaks and glaciers. Keep an eye out for the resident population of rock hyrax and sunbirds. This 14km trek, with a 900m ascent, takes approximately 7 hours.
