• Kibera - Kibera ranks as Africa’s second-largest informal settlement, following Soweto in South Africa. It is home to an estimated one million residents from all over East Africa, all living within a 2.5 sq. km area. Kibera offers a unique chance to explore a different side of Kenya, one that is often overlooked but brimming with potential. Erick, our founder, spent some time living in Kibera while establishing his career and still has many relatives residing there. Over the years, several notable international figures and celebrities, including President Obama, Ban Ki Moon (former UN Secretary General), Gordon Brown (former British Prime Minister), and Bono, have visited Kibera to witness this distinctive settlement ecosystem firsthand. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe various ongoing UN and NGO projects focused on housing (slum upgrading), education, and health, all aimed at reducing poverty in the area.

We cultivate part of our profits to this mission through MAKLWETA, a charitable trust Dr. Komolo founded.
